Why we do what we do?
- To challenge the lens each of us currently look through.
- To provoke bravery and evoke change, through awareness, understanding, compassion.
- To be accountable and better serve our communities.
To make the most impact, we invite conversations with the people in charge. Who are the people taking care of our children and youth? Counselors, social workers, educators, childcare professionals, other practitioners, but above all… the parents/ guardians.
Underpinning ALL Our Workshops
Truth and Reconciliation – There are night and day differences between Indigenous worldviews and western ways, and no more time left to wait to embrace them. Let us talk with you on ways to internalize, and honor the mandates of Truth and Reconciliation in your field, by adapting more Indigenous Educational strategies, teaching values and worldviews. Can you say you understand, and are an ally?
If “a leader is anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes and has the courage to develop that potential” (Brené Brown), then we seek to make leaders out of everyone who shapes the lives of our children and youth.
As professionals, we have to be open to continuously evolve expertise, to develop new knowledge and seek creative ways to better meet the diverse and everchanging needs of children and youth.

Intersectionality, because sometimes we are faced with more that one thing to tackle at the same time.

Looking at the Heart, Mind, Body and Soul (For the Practitioner)
This is a 45-minute session where our team will be leading you through anti-racist education approaches, in the context of individualized learning, understanding and authentic expression. We examine some simple questions to deepen our understanding of the role we play as teachers and service providers of children/ youth. The goal is to address the roots of student’s challenges, rather than just masking the symptom with temporary solutions e.g., true rapport, unique learning needs vs behavioral issues. This looks at learning styles of your audience, their environment (family), background, resilience levels. Lastly, we provide you with some multisensory instructional ideas, using a case study of Hip Hop Education. The goal is to lock down ways to empower the learner profiles that you have. We will have 15 minutes following the session for a Q&A period.
Allies Make the Best Leaders (For the Management Team, DEI/ Culture Teams)
A foundational session for those without intercultural training or awareness. Participants have an opportunity to find ways to better navigate culture in their own diverse workplaces. We use this opportunity to introduce / adapt respectful DEI strategies by reflecting on your own identity and then looking at those around you. We need as many cultures, backgrounds and thinking styles as we can get to maximize communication and operations. We observe this by looking through the lens of the Indigenous Peoples narrative, and historical contexts at colonial methodologies are responsible for: cultural suppression, the experiences of forced assimilation and intergenerational trauma. These are undeniable effects on community spiritual health, and social outcomes.
